The Squash Club of INTI College Malaysia
today smashed the longest squash marathon record in Malaysia.
60 players including International
world ranking players such as World’s Top 17, Mohd Azlan Iskandar from
Malaysia, World’s Top 18 Adrian Grant and World’s Top 23 Bradley Ball,
both from United Kingdom and World’s Women WISPA Top 41 ranking, Line
Hansen Den from Netherlands played 42-hours non-stop squash.

The event started off with a bang – an
exhibition match between Iskandar Grant, who had the crowd gasping in
awe at their sheer speed and also the ability to pickup near impossible
shots. Hansen then took Elvin Keo, a top Malaysian junior to court
before members of the public made their way onto the court for their
turns.
The squashathon begun at 6pm on 15 July
2005 and ended at 12.30pm on 17 July 2005. At the closing, Dr Lim Ho
Peng, Associate Vice-President of Academic Affairs applauded the
organising committee for their effort and initiative. Also present at
the ceremony is Colonel (Rtd) Wong Ah Jit, Executive Secretary for
Squash Association of Malaysia.
The INTI Squashathon, the brain child
of INTI Squash Club is aimed at making squash as a popular arena of
sports for Malaysians has successfully makes its name into the Malaysian
Book of Records, with only RM 5,000 expenditure.
