SportExcel - Milo - NSC- MSSM Junior Squash Circuit

1st Leg of the 12th Sportexcel-NSC-Milo-MSSM Junior Squash Circuit 2004 started with a total of 261 participants. All the 14 States participated expect for Sabah sent players and we even have players from Singapore.

 For the 1st time in 12 years, the Under 11 Age group was added in and the responds is very encouraging with 19 girls and 47 boys.

 The Boys and Girls in the Under 17 and 19 played at the NSC Courts, Jln Duta, KL, while the Boys and Girls in Under 11, 13 and 15 played at MPPJ Astaka Courts, PJ, Selangor.

 The 1st round of matches started at 9.00am on the 20th Feb 2004 and the finals were played on the 22nd.Feb 2004

 In the final of the Under 11 event, which was played best of 3 throughout the whole circuit, Airin Abd Rahman of Melaka was too strong and beat Yong Sue Ann of Selangor in the Girls caterory to emerage as champion with the score of 9/0, 9/0. In the boys caterorgy  Lim Eu Jin of Selangor defected S. Kaladevan also of Selangor 9/6, 9/6

 In the final of the Under 13 event, Tan Yan Xin of Selangor beat arch rival Low Wee Nee of Penang 9/3, 2/9, 9/1, and 9/5 in the girls caterogy, while in the boys caterorgy Muhd Zul Azri Ashar of Selangor beat Andre Kho of Sarawak 2/9, 9/0, 9/1 and 9/3

 In the Under 15 final, Pamela Chua of Singapore was made to work hard to overcome Rachael Goh of Sarawak in 5 with the score of 8/10, 9/7, 9/3, 8/10 and 9/1 in the girls while in the boys, Ivan Yuen of Selangor has his revenge when he beat his arch rival Kamran Khan of FT also in 5 with the score of 9/5, 7/9, 9/1, 1/9 and 9/2. The score between them for 2004 is now 1 all, as Kamran beat Ivan also in 5 when they made in the British Junior Open played in Sheffield, England in early Jan 2004.

 It was a clash of 2 Penang girls in the girls Under 17 as Nabilla Ariffin beat Low Wee Wern in 4 with the score of 10/9, 9/10, 9/7 and 10/8. In the boys event, Elvinn Keo of Penang proves that he is the Under 17 No 1 in Malaysia when he came back from 2 – 0 down to beat Mohd Asyraf Azan of FT, with the score of 2/9, 6/9, 9/6, 9/1 and 9/5

In the Under 19 event, Delia Arnold of FT beat fellow World Junior 2003 team mate Sally Looi also of FT 9/1, 9/4 and 9/3. Whereas in the boy, Mohd Nafiizwan of BJSS/Trg had to come out with his beat to beat Vivian Rhamanan of Singapore in 5 with the score of 9/6, 7/9, 9/2, 7/9 and 9/4.
