The full team played in both
matches today. Order of play was 2-1-3. We beat Korea
wearing a bright yellow sleeveless with white skirt in the
morning, and beat Japan in a mean looking black and white
outfit in the evening. The thing that I had always
personally admire about the Koreans and Japanese is their
fighting spirit. Often in a match, they can seem to run
endlessly and barely look tired even in the fifth set!
Simply amazing. So, it’s pretty satisfying when you win a
match against them. Makes you feel as though you’re as fit
as them. With their never give up and die hard attitudes,
they gave all of us good matches which we enjoyed.

10a.m : |
Played Korea. Had my left knee
wrapped as I felt it was still slightly bruised from my
brush of death with the wall. Goodness...knee looked like
Frankenstein, all patched up with different shades of
bandages. |

12p.m : |
Ray confirmed my trip to
Singapore for a WISPA tournament. My first overseas trip for
the year! Told Della I’ll be going and she said she’ll bring
me out to popular places to eat. Apparently, the food at
these places are ‘syiok and can steam one’! Looking forward
to this steamy events. |

1.30p.m : |
We packed lunch from Starbucks and watched
more F.R.I.E.N.D.S episodes on Nicol’s laptop. A Korean fan
gave Nicol a present. Advised her to open with care in case
it was Anthrax. It only turned out to be a top. Well, just
thought it would be super exciting if the S.W.A.T team and
crew surrounded our hotel. |

4p.m : |
Whoa, nearly missed the bus. We were the last
on board. My fault. Lost track of time while typing this. |

5p.m : |
Played Japan. Did not Frankenstein my knee.
Nicol saw Sharon exchanging e-mail address with one of the
Japanese boys. Gee, I wonder what’s going on there. Took
team photographs with them after the matches. Another team
meeting about tomorrow’s line-up. |

8.15p.m : |
Had KFC for dinner. Passed many team
delegates and officials, dressed to the nines at hotel
lobby. They were going to a dinner party at the Mandarin
Oriental, thrown by the ASF President, Mr Ramachandran.
Should be a glitzy and posh night for them. No participants
were invited. |

11p.m : |
Nicol went to bed early but was disturbed by
several calls. I received a text message from England.
Excited but only to find out it was from Marcus, an old
friend. He was suppose to be back to watch this
Championship. No idea why he didn’t make it. He should have.
