Next Day

According to the latest WSF ruling, the third singles does not have to play if a team is leading 2-0. Today, we beat India en route to the finals. As the order of play was 3-1-2, Sharon did not feature after Nicol and I won our matches. I thought this new ruling made perfect sense. Knowing a certain team has already won, people naturally do not pay attention to the third match as it does not matter to them whether a team won 3-0 or 2-1. A short conclusion of the new ruling : the third singles either doesn't play at all, or plays the crucial, nerve-wrecking decider. A vast contrast.

9a.m :

Team breakfast with team manager, Mary Lee.

10.40a.m :

Went to Lot 10 for groceries. We thought a walk would be better than lazing in our very comfy bed, as to prevent from feeling lethargic during evening's matches.

4p.m :

Light hit as warm up. Ray told us that the Japanese's team manager was involved in a snatch thief incident earlier today. She hung on to her handbag but fell and grazed her elbow. Ashamed of city conditions.
Heard also that a demonstration was held by hotel employees somewhere nearby, two days ago.

5p.m :

Played India.

5.40p.m :

Had massage session with Ronald. After, can feel arms and legs operating again.

6.30p.m :

Watched our Malaysian men play against India. A small crowd was watching and volunteers of the Championship were hooting loudly a la football. Great supporters they were.

6.50p.m :

Nicol got herself fine tuned by Ronald. Was also free of aches and pains later.

7.30p.m : Last team meeting regarding tomorrow's matches. Ray asked about our well-beings and team manager gave us allowance. Apparently, allowance was increased by RM30 because we entered the finals. A big WOW! Right.

9p.m : Gumps brought Nicol and I to California Kitchen, KLCC for dinner. Ate too well. Feel the need to lie down urgently to ease stomach. Saw a few Japanese participants walking around the mall. They looked a bit lost. Or maybe just awe-struck by the beauty of the mall. I don t know.

11p.m : Making our way back to the hotel. Saw prostitutes just around the corner of our hotel! Very grossed out. Now realised how unsafe this area is.Regret not taking self-defence class. Also regret not packing mom's meat axe into suitcase.

11.30p.m : Double-checked the door lock. Definitely do not want weirdoes breaking-in. Nicol gave some tips for my match tomorrow. A bit of tv and we called it a night.
